In a remarkable showcase of tourist experiences and cross-border cooperation, the Interreg TheRout_net project took center stage at the TTG TRAVEL EXPERIENCE fair, held from October 11th to 13th in Rimini, Italy. This initiative, funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy 2014/2020 Programme and organized by Puglia Region, seeks to enhance thematic tourism by celebrating the cultural and historical itineraries and routes that epitomize the essence of slow tourism.
The complexity of this undertaking lies in the multifaceted approach taken by TheRout_net project, blending both tangible and intangible interventions to extend the tourism season in the cross-border region between Greece and Italy. The aim is to make these historical and cultural treasures accessible and appealing to tourists year-round, reducing the reliance on seasonal peaks.
At the RIMINI TTG TRAVEL EXPERIENCE, TheRout_net project presented a visionary approach to cultural tourism. Visitors to their booth had the opportunity to explore the results of the project and better know the cross border area.
The fair represented more than just a platform for knowledge exchange; it embodied the collaboration, providing new partnerships and drive forward-thinking solutions. The presence of TheRout_net project at this esteemed event was a manifestation of its dedication of the partners to spread the core objectives of the Interreg Programme’s strategic projects.
As we reflect on the event, it becomes evident that the RIMINI TTG TRAVEL EXPERIENCE served as an invaluable platform for TheRout_net project to demonstrate how slow tourism can transform the traveler’s experience.
